Testimonials from Our Community
Things are wild and chaotic and AMAZING. We have seen a 70% increase in families needing food on a weekly basis over the past month. We are setting a new record every week. We planned for 600 families today and I still may have to go pack more boxes to make it to 6pm. We are down to only a few pallets out of 27 packed boxes. We are able to meet the need thanks to support from donors and food suppliers. We are scrambling to do it and have had to rely on assistance from the National Guard to have enough hands to pack boxes and get them into the cars.
Thank you so much for the generous support that was provided by the Arizona Community Foundation. You all have been such a blessing to our Camp Verde community through your incredible gift to the Bread of Life Mission. Thanks to your support we have been able to meet the significantly increased demand for food assistance in Camp Verde, Rimrock, Lake Montezuma, and Beaver Creek. On average we have seen 1,500 folks per week needing food assistance. We have not had to turn a single person away without food. We have used the support to stabilize our operations during these difficult financial times. The donation from the ACF has helped us purchase additional food, send a driver to Phoenix on a weekly basis to get an additional truck load of food to help meet the demand, helped us purchase the packing materials for food boxes, PPE, and to rent an additional truck to transport the extra food.
Thank you again for the powerful ways that you support our community. The Arizona Community Foundation is truly a blessing!
Thank you so very much. I can’t express how thankful I am and we are. Our ReStore is closed and we are keeping our employees working and employed and our cash reserves have been stressed. We applied for the SBA PPP loan and we did not make it into the rounds of funds that were approved. Of course, those funds have been exhausted. This $23,000 will be a great help to finish the Peach Lane homes. The two homebuyers that we currently have under contract are so excited that they are getting close to move in.
Have a wonderful weekend! Bless you and ACF we appreciate your support for affordable housing here in the Verde Valley.
I’m retired…my income is fixed, and my expenses are down these days. So I’m donating a chunk of my stimulus check to the ACF Sedona/Verde Valley COVID-19 Community Response Fund to help my neighbors whose income was cut off. They need the boost much more than I do.
Thanks to the support of the Arizona Community Foundation the Old Town Mission has been able to stay open and meet the increased demand for food. Our numbers have more than doubled since the beginning of the crisis and we are giving away approximately 500 to 550 food boxes per week. Our highest day we gave away 385 food boxes in five hours.
We are so grateful for the communities outpouring of support.
